Hunter Douglas is an industry leader in energy savings since the early 1940’s when the cellular shade was invented by Hunter Douglas. Step forward to 1985, Hunter Douglas first introduced the Duette Shades in response to the energy crisis of the late 1970s. And now, the latest redition is the Duette Architella Shade series which is the next generation of design with even greater energy efficiency. Duette Architella products keep homes warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Smart PNW has other options than just the Duette products! Hunter Douglas released a line of Designer Screen Shades partnered with Bionic to create GreenScreen Sea-Tex Fabrics in July of 2020 after a successful launch in Europe. Bionic is a material engineering company that established coastal recycling infrastructure in developing nations that delivers fully traceable textiles from marine and coastal plastic. Together, the partnership fabricated a yarn engineered from recovered costal and marine plastic to be used in the Designer Screen Shades Sea-Tex line. There are five available neutral tones with a 3% openness to provide privacy, UV protection, glare control, and view-through all while filtering sunlight into the house.
Another great solution for product line offerings from Hunter Douglas is the beautiful, artisanal Provenance Woven Wood Shades. The shades are crafted from natural woods, reeds, bamboo, and grasses. The refined weaves and natural fibers add an organic style to your room and filter sunlight beautifully.
Provenance Woven Wood Shades has a generous amount of customization options as well, including three different styles from a roman style shade or waterfall roman to vertical drapery. The Shades feature the strongest materials and craftsmanship for superb quality as well. Weaving techniques are engineers to minimize stretching, bowing, and breaking. Other customization can happen at the headrail or with edging around the shade itself. If you wanted to include a liner to add extra light control you have the maximum flexibility for light filtering or room darkening.
